Throughout the first half of 2022, foreign direct investment (FDI) increased up to 50%<sup>1<\/sup> over the previous year. However, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/advance-realestate.com.amatedigital.mx\/adblog\/en\/mexico-a-young-and-productive-human-capital-economy\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/advance-realestate.com.amatedigital.mx\/adblog\/en\/mexico-a-young-and-productive-human-capital-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#216baf\" class=\"has-inline-color\">this level of investment needs support to maintain and steadily grow.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investing in foreign capital: what are the forecasts?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In early 2022 it was estimated that foreign direct investment in Mexico attracted more than $US27 billion<sup>1<\/sup>, according to Solili\u2019s data. In order of participation, the following industries received distribution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span>Mass media (24.2%)<\/span><\/li><li><span>Financial services (19.4%)<\/span><\/li><li><span>Transportation (17.2%).<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A global UNCTAD<sup>2<\/sup> analysis found that this recovery significantly improved foreign direct investment in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nonetheless, the report also highlighted that investors\u2019<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#216baf\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/advance-realestate.com.amatedigital.mx\/adblog\/en\/industrial-spaces-and-foreign-investment-in-mexico\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/advance-realestate.com.amatedigital.mx\/adblog\/en\/industrial-spaces-and-foreign-investment-in-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>trust in the infrastructure sectors remained intact due to long-term financing alternatives<\/strong><\/a><\/mark>, recovery incentives, and foreign investment programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the survey on the Expectations of Economic Specialists in the Private Sector predicted a potential growth in the FDI of Mexico by 2023. It stated that it could reach US$29.965 billion<sup>3<\/sup>, even if it maintained its lower 2022 growth rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this framework, a key factor encouraging foreign investment in Mexico and other economies is international project finance agreements, growing 53% in number and 9% in value<sup>3<\/sup>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The outcome of higher foreign investment in Mexico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Investment Report 2022 data showed Mexico ranking as the tenth largest recipient of FDI<sup>4<\/sup> worldwide in 2021 and fifth among developing economies. This indicates confidence in the national economy and its advantageous conditions for foreign investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those companies investing in our country can reduce operating costs compared to if they had installed in other locations.
