But what makes this efficient in the modern logistics chain? Several factors must be considered, but the DC\u2019s role has become increasingly important.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"features-of-distribution-centers\" style=\"color:#ff8300\">Features of distribution centers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#ff8300\">Location<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DCs help ensure goods or\u00a0products are delivered on time and in good condition\u00a0to the end customer. However, they have grown even more important with the rise of e-commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Mexico, it is estimated that online sales in 2020 increased 81%<sup>1<\/sup>&nbsp;over the previous year. This led many companies to rethink their&nbsp;distribution strategies&nbsp;to deliver orders on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But this phenomenon was already appearing years ago when some transnational companies expanded into Mexico. This became a strategic point in distribution operations in Latin America.
