Industrial parks in Mexico
Companies from the United States started opening facilities in Mexico in the late 1960s, and this trend has persisted with the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Service Industry Program (IMMEX).
Furthermore, the Mexican Association of Industrial Parks (AMPIP1) reported that more than 500 industrial parks—extensive facilities—have officially opened their doors in the country.

Northern Corridor
This area includes the states of Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Sinaloa, Durango, Chihuahua, Zacatecas, and Nuevo Leon. It promotes interconnection between border cities such as Ciudad Juárez, the Mazatlán, and Topolobampo ports.
Overall, as stated by AMPIP, Nuevo León stands out for having 64 industrial parks and getting almost 12% of the country’s FDI.
Northern corridor relevance is such that, according to Forbes2, it accounts for 21% of the domestic GDP.
El Bajio Corridor
Some states located in the Bajio region are Guanajuato, Queretaro, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, and Jalisco.
Jalisco is the best known in this corridor with 37,141 facilities from the manufacturing sectors, accounting for over 6% of domestic FDI. Second is Guanajuato, with 33,074 facilities and nearly 5% of FDI.
Thus, it was no surprise when the gross domestic product (GDP) from the manufacturing industry in Mexico surpassed 2.885 billion pesos3 in 2021.
